Welcome to 2017!
I was previously blogging over at Mum Of Five Girls, but a long stretch between posts (and perhaps a forgotten password :-0 ) saw me thinking twice about continuing my blogging journey. But you know what, I love this little space and I love the people that I have met and have contact with thanks to blogging so as you can see I decided new year, new journey and new blog! Welcome to Life At 101!
This may well be my favourite time of the year! Christmas has come and gone, the New Year has been welcomed in and school holidays are upon us, sleep ins are a reality and there are no uniforms to wash or lunches to pack. Thoughts of resolutions, changes and improvements fill my head. The sky is the limit, the possibilities seem endless.
I know that in reality once school goes back the chaos will begin and many of these resolutions will fall by the wayside but hey it doesn’t stop me from feeling this way at this time every year…..perhaps I am the eternal optimist…..hmmm or just eternally crazy!!
So what are the things I am hoping for in 2017?
I want a major focus this year to be on our health, exercising, eating right, trying new foods…maybe even the sacha inchi inca nuts…rumoured to be one of the superfoods for 2017 (okay that might be pushing it just a bit too far for me!!). The main obstacle in this area is me! I grew up in a meat and 3 veg kinda family and am completely unadventurous when it comes to trying new foods….ok unadventurous is actually an understatement! So it might be baby steps from me but I’m going to give it a go!
I also want to be conscious of how much waste we are producing as a family and work towards reducing it. I need to take my own bags to the store more often, we need to compost more and perhaps we need to even think twice about some purchases based on their packaging etc.. We could do well to resuse, recycle and upcyle more often too.
Towards the end of 2015 I started up my Virtual Assistant business and have been coasting along but this year I want to find more clients and structure better work routines that impact less on family time. I want to work smarter and stop working late into the night!
Often life gets super busy and things like supervising the girls homework and school readers and library books and notes get neglected. This year I want to set aside time to help them with these things…and not just rushing through them while thinking about a dozen other things!!
Okay I could go on and on, and on and on!!! But I’ll stop there before I weigh myself down with too many hopes and dreams!!
Here’s to a new year, new hopes and new possibilities!
What are your resolutions, plans or dreams for 2017, I’d love you to share them here!
